Empowering Futures One Child at a Time
We believe that every child deserves the right to education, regardless of their financial background. In Nigeria, over 10.5 million children are out of school, largely due to the inability to afford school fees. This alarming statistic drives our mission to bridge the gap and give hope to those who need it most.
"Empowering Futures One Child at a Time," we took decisive action to support 100 school children who were at risk of dropping out due to financial constraints. We specifically targeted students in SS2 and JSS2, ensuring they could continue their education without interruption.
Our outreach took us to two schools:
- Government Day Secondary School Gaa-akanbi in Ilorin, Kwara State. Nigeria
- Junior Community Secondary School in Okeodo, Tanke, Ilorin,Kwara State. Nigeria
To ensure transparency and fairness in our selection process, we collaborated directly with the teachers. Before the program, we met with them and requested the names of students who were both academically brilliant and financially challenged. Priority was given to indigent students who showed great potential but faced the risk of dropping out due to unpaid fees.
This project wasn't just about paying school fees; it was about investing in the future of our community. By giving these children a chance to continue their education, we're empowering them to dream bigger and achieve more.

Digital Literacy for Young Innovators
In Nigeria, the digital divide continues to hinder the potential of young minds. According to UNICEF, only about 7% of Nigerian youth possess the necessary ICT skills required in today's digital economy. This staggering statistic highlights a critical gap that limits access to educational resources, job opportunities, and global competitiveness for children in underserved communities.
Recognizing this challenge, the Loib Empowerment Initiative took decisive action through our "Digital Literacy for Young Innovators" workshop. This one-day event aimed to introduce school children to essential digital skills, fostering digital literacy and preparing them for the future. We reached out to 200 school children from 10 selected public schools, ensuring that those most in need received the opportunity to learn and grow in the digital space.
Workshop Highlights:
- Interactive Sessions: Students were actively engaged in hands-on activities, where they learned the basics of computer operations, internet navigation, and online safety. These sessions were designed to empower them with the skills needed to explore the digital world responsibly.
- Creative Projects: To spark innovation, participants were encouraged to develop simple digital content, promoting creativity and practical application of their newfound skills.
- Collaborative Learning: Group activities fostered teamwork, problem-solving, and peer-to-peer learning—essential skills for thriving in the digital age.
The feedback from the participants was overwhelmingly positive. Many students expressed newfound confidence in navigating digital platforms, with several showing a keen interest in pursuing careers in technology. By empowering these young minds, we're not only bridging the digital divide but also inspiring the next generation of digital innovators.
Bag2Skul Project
In Kwara State, Nigeria, approximately 22% of children aged 6 to 15 are out of school, as reported by TheCable. This significant number highlights the challenges many families face in providing essential educational resources for their children.
To address this issue, the Loib Empowerment Initiative launched the "Bag2Skul" project in Ipe, Kwara State. This initiative provided 300 students with free school bags and educational materials, aiming to alleviate the financial burdens that often hinder school attendance.
By supplying these essential items, the Loib Empowerment Initiative not only supports students' educational journeys but also encourages consistent school attendance, contributing to a reduction in the out-of-school population in the region.
1 Christmas 1000 Children Endless Joy
In many underserved communities across Nigeria, children often miss out on festive celebrations due to economic constraints and limited access to recreational facilities. A study highlights that disadvantaged areas tend to have fewer public spaces and recreational amenities, limiting children's opportunities for such events.
Recognizing this gap, the Loib Empowerment Initiative organized a Christmas party in December 2024 for 1,000 schoolchildren in Baptist and LGEA Community Schools Shao, Kwara State. This event aimed to bring joy and a sense of belonging to children who rarely experience such celebrations. By creating memorable experiences, the initiative fosters community spirit and enhances the well-being of these young individuals.
